Felipe is responsible for leading the company’s strategy and activity in land acquisition, due diligence, zoning, planning, engineering and land development on existing holdings, as well as evaluating new investment opportunities.
He earned a BS in Regional Development from the University of Arizona and has more than 30 years of broad-based experience in both the public and private sector. In the public sector, he became well-versed in the technical, administrative, and political considerations of land development which continues to inform and facilitate his work in the private sector. Prior to joining Simpatico Communities, he successfully managed several large, local and national multi-disciplinary/multi-firm projects through his own planning and engineering design firm and most recently, served as the National Director of Planning for Matrix Design Group.
He volunteers his time through a number of pro-bono speaking engagements and past service on several voluntary boards and commissions including the Arizona State Transportation Board, City of Phoenix Planning Commission, Arizona Real Estate Advisory Board, Maricopa County Trails Commission, and the St. John Vianney Finance Council. His experience as a practitioner and decision-maker has provided him a unique perspective to land development. Felipe continues his leadership in the field by taking an active role in mentoring young professionals.
